Enhancements Added

Time or Ticks on X-axis

In DollarLink, an intraday chart normally has the time of day on the X-axis. When a new quote is charted it is placed at the X-axis position that corresponds to the time of day when that quote came in.

Several clients have requested an ability to have charts where the X-axis is not based on time of day but rather on the number of ticks from the start of the day.

In this ticks-on-X-axis mode, all incoming quotes are placed one after another on the X-axis and the time between quotes is ignored. Thus, there may have been ten trades in one minute and then a pause of, say, two minutes before the next trade. This mode would ignore that two minute gap and chart all quotes consecutively. (The regular time-on-X-axis mode would show the ten trades bunched up together and then there would be a spacing equivalent to two minutes before the next trade.)

All the clients who have requested this feature claim that the ticks-on-X-axis mode gives them extra insight. It is interesting to note that all these clients are active intraday S&P futures traders.

Now you can choose between the two modes. Make the targeted intraday chart window active and press GT (Graphs, Ticks). DollarLink will then remember this change and plot the chart in the ticks-on-X-axis mode. To go back to the regular mode, press the same GT keys.

Since each window remembers its own mode, you can have the same symbol plotted in two different intraday windows with the two different X-axis modes. You can then see the differences in the charts. (We confess, though, that the additional insight is not obvious to us.)

You can tell at a glance a window's mode by the presence or absence of an asterisk next to the symbol name in that intraday window. For example if a window's chart's symbol name says SP U5* that means it is in the ticks-on-X-axis mode.

Note that if you want to manually rescale the X-axis of an intraday window that is using the ticks-on-X-axis mode, it is best to use the graphical zoom & pan approach (press Z and move the resizing rectangle with either the arrows or the mouse).

Forex Quotes On Signal Datafeed

We are modifying DollarLink to be able to process Forex quotes. It should be completed by next month.

Forex on Signal means CrossMar Foreign Exchange Rates. Forex based on U.S. rates will work with all Signal receivers. Forex based on cross rates will work only on the the 19.2K cable feed in the U.S. or the satellite feed in Europe.

Updates Policy

Updates with the above enhancements will be available after the 15th of September.

Updates are yours for the asking, except for those customers who bought DollarLink but have not paid the annual support & updates fee. The updates always have the latest updated manual included as a file on disk; new printed manuals are available for $20 to cover production and shipping costs.
