With the increased trading volume, it always helps to be able to process incoming quotes faster.
The latest version of DollarLink for BMI now supports the 38.4K baud BMI datafeed.
You have a choice of setting the data receiver to either 19.2K baud or 38.4K baud. You can either call up BMI and they will profile the receiver remotely to the desired baud rate or you can use the supplied utility BRLOAD to set it yourself.
For example, to set the receiver connected to the PC on comm.port 1 to 38.4K baud, from the DollarLink directory execute
BRLOAD 1 38400 N [enter]
If the receiver is connected on comm.port 2, then execute
BRLOAD 2 38400 N [enter]
(To set the receiver to 19.2K baud, replace 38400 in the above commands with 19200.)
In addition, you have to tell DollarLink about your baud rate choice. Run SETUP and choose Part 2 and then B for b aud rate.
Since running communication ports at 38.4K baud makes the PC work harder, we recommend using this option on a Pentium-class PC.
This update is available to all active DollarLink customers. (Active customers include all renters, all those on a six-month lease, all purchasers within the last 12 months, or purchasers who have paid the $300 support fee within the last 12 months.
