DollarLink News -- March 12, 2001
Nasdaq Below 2000
A couple of years ago, when the market was in a strong bull mode,
we were scrambling to update DollarLink to be able to process
the ever-increasing prices. Well, now it's the reverse. But since now
we already have the procedure in place, it is easier and does not
require upgrades of the program.
All you have to do to "fix" the Nasdaq Composite is to edit the
text file ACCURATE. There is a line there that looks like
CMPQ,2000
With a text editor, such as EDIT (or Notepad if you are working in the Windows
environment), modify that line to
CMPQ,1600
and save the file. Then restart DollarLink.
You may have to relax the error-checking that DollarLink enforces:
once DollarLink is up and running, in text mode press Control+E and then
the letter I. That's it. You only have to do this once.
Similary, NDX has also dropped below 2000. To "fix" that, edit the
file REDUCE. There should be a line
$NDX,2000
Change that to 1600, e.g.,
$NDX,1600
and save the file.
